If you're here, you received my farewell email and I'm so glad you clicked. This page is my little corner of what's next. Stay a moment. And please accept my gift to you.

I'm Georgia Wolfe-Samuels - your Auditor, CPA, and Jamaican colleague turned Career Burnout Strategist. Yes, you read that right. The woman who spent years auditing financial statements and making sure everything balanced, contributing to quality frameworks, building and leading in the firm’s SQM monitoring function, helping shape the quality management framework that supports control owners across the U.S. and throughout our member firms in the Americas… decided the most important thing she could audit was her own life.
Turns out, the numbers were telling a story I could no longer ignore.
I gave corporate everything I had... and I mean everything. Full scope. No limitations. Late nights, early mornings, cross-border collaboration, leading teams, and doing work I'm genuinely proud of. But somewhere between the deadlines and the deliverables, I learned something they don't teach you in college: you can be excellent at your job and still be running on empty. You can be the most qualified person in the room and still feel invisible. And you can love what you do while quietly losing yourself in it.
I know because I lived it.
I had built a life that looked successful from the outside but had serious going concern issues on the inside. I was leaking power, and not in ways anyone could see on a balance sheet, a profit & loss statement, or a cash flow statement. I was leaking it in what I now refer to as our three primary career power buckets: Alignment, Authenticity, and Advocacy.
You see, I was often the only in the room. The only woman. The only minority. The only immigrant. And sometimes a confluence of all three -- navigating arenas that often triggered both imposter syndrome and intruder syndrome, and where where micro-aggressions were often an uninvited but familiar guest. As a result, I had learned to make myself smaller, work harder, and stay quieter than I ever should have, all in an effort to survive. And then my body started sending signals my ambition kept overriding... until it couldn't anymore, and in 2018 I ended up on the floor of my master bathroom fighting for my life.
And trust me, this was no de minimis finding. This was a material misstatement.
(Shameless plug: I chronicled the whole journey in my book, Redefining Her.)
What I discovered in that bathroom was the most important audit finding of my career and life, and no one could remediate it but me. I never want anyone else to experience that! And in line with my mission to contribute positively to building a better working world, I decided to transition that pain, my difference, and experiences into purpose-driven work that equips professionals to navigate their career with boldfidence and rise without losing themselves in the process.
So I did what any good Auditor and CPA would do; I assessed the situation, identified the gaps (and control deficiencies 😏), built my own remediation plan, and for the first time in years, I could give myself an unqualified opinion.
That solution is now The EMPACT Agency®, a personal development and consulting firm I built over the last 5 years. The name was intentional. To me, it's not only about equipping professionals with tools and strategies ("teaching them how to fish"). It's about expanding what they believe is possible, so they can discover new ways to lead, grow, and create impact.
I now help professionals navigate their careers with clarity, confidence, and authenticity, and I partner with organizations ready to tackle retention, strengthen their leadership pipeline, and build cultures where their best people actually stay and thrive.
I am so excited (and simultaneously terrified) about this next chapter!

AUTHENTICITY
What it is:
Authenticity is your permission to show up as your authentic self (not your full self, all of you don't need a badge 😄😂). This is your background, your voice, your perspective, your culture, without editing yourself down to make yourself more palatable.
What it feels like when it's leaking:
You code-switch so often it's become automatic. You hold back ideas in meetings because you're not sure they'll land. You've learned to make yourself smaller, quieter, more palatable, and somewhere along the way you stopped being able to tell the difference between professional polish and self-erasure. That distinction matters more than most people realize.

ADVOCACY
What it is:
Advocacy is your ability to speak up for yourself - in salary negotiations, performance conversations, promotion cycles, and everyday interactions. It's knowing your value, having the language to articulate it, and having the confidence to do so without apology.
What it feels like when it's leaking:
You work harder than anyone in the room but somehow others get the credit, the visibility, and the advancement. You're everyone's go-to but no one's top-of-mind when opportunity knocks. You've been told to "be patient" so many times patience has started to feel like a cage. Oftentimes you're not lacking talent. You may just be lacking an effective strategy.

ALIGNMENT
What it is:
Alignment is the congruence between who you are, what you value, your strengths, your vision for your career, and the work you show up to do every day. It's the difference between a career that fits and a career that chafes.
What it feels like when it's leaking:
You're performing well on paper but feel hollow inside. You dread Monday mornings because something fundamental feels off. You've achieved the title, the salary, maybe the recognition, and you still feel like something is missing. This is often a sign of misalignment.
The Career Advocacy Arsenal is a free resource I built to help you navigate corporate with strategy, language, and confidence. Consider it my way of saying thank you for everything this chapter gave me.
